📍 Instagram AR – Developed using MetaSpark AR (platform discontinued in Jan/2025)
⚠️ Note: This project was created and published using the MetaSpark AR platform, which was officially discontinued in January 2025. While the effect is no longer available online, it remains documented here as part of my creative and technical portfolio.
Project Overview
A 3D augmented reality experience featuring a floating Air Max 90 sneaker model, designed to explore interactive scale, rotation, and spatial anchoring. This was my first experiment working with 3D objects in AR. The sneaker model was sourced from an online asset library and imported into Blender, where I customized the colors and materials before integrating it into Spark AR.
Features & Interactions
🎨 Visual customization in Blender: color and material adjustments to the 3D model
🔁 Automatic rotation, simulating a product display in a virtual showroom
🧭 Z-axis control: users could move the sneaker closer or farther with gestures
🔍 Real-time scale adjustment
🧱 Spatial anchoring: the sneaker remained fixed in the scene while users moved around it
Tools Used
Blender (for visual editing of the 3D model)
MetaSpark AR Studio (for implementation and interactive logic)
Patch Editor (to build rotation, scale, and spatial positioning behaviors)
Learning & Context
This was my first project involving interactive 3D elements in augmented reality. It started as a personal study, driven by curiosity to understand how 3D assets could be used in Instagram filters. The entire development process was self-taught, combining tutorials, trial and error, and hands-on exploration of Spark AR’s interactive features.
