I recently needed a calculator app to simulate future earnings, investments, and inflation within the Brazilian economy. That’s when I revisited the “Calculadora do Cidadão,” an official tool by the Brazilian Central Bank.

While the app was undeniably functional, its user interface felt outdated and visually neglected. The user experience (UX) was decent, but the outdated UI affected the tool’s overall perception — making it feel less trustworthy and modern than it actually was.

That contrast inspired me to redesign the interface, keeping the original structure and functionality intact, but updating the visual layer to deliver a cleaner, more user-friendly, and aesthetically modern experience.
